Will the Warriors Win the NBA Finals Tonight?

Published June 16, 2016 by Sol FH

Game 6 of the NBA Finals gets underway tonight at 2:00 GMT and Golden State has a chance to ice the Cavs in Cleveland.

Last year's NBA Finals was won by the Golden State Warriors in six games. Tonight, the Warriors have a chance to repeat history if they can pull out a win at Cleveland with the odds stacked against them. The Cavs bounced back in Game 5 in Oakland to pull within one game of leveling the series at 3-3, but will Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green back after his one-game suspension.

In Game 5, the Cavs ruled the court. Actually it was LeBron James and Kyrie Irving whom both scored 41 points apiece taking the Warriors chances of winning the championships on home court. Now at home at Quicken Loans Arena, the Cavs face a must-win situation, but as we all know, they lost at home last year down by the same game deficit. The odds that the Cavs will win the Finals are slim. Only 2 teams out of the 32 teams that went down 3-1 in the NBA Finals have come back to win and the last time it happened was in 1966.

The Cavs are really hoping that the momentum from the Game 5 win will carry over to Game 6. "I think that's always been the case in the postseason. I think it also depends on the way you played and where you played at. I think that helps. But, I mean, both teams in this series have shown that they can win on each other's floor, so I don't think that matters much,' related James after their Game 5 victory.

The Warriors have Green back in the lineup, but they will be without Andrew Bogut their Center, who is out for the remainder of the series with a knee injury.
