Understanding the game better

The action kicks off with the first bet being placed. Players must beat the dealer by scoring 21 or as close to 21 as possible without going bust. A natural blackjack (Ace and Jack) always wins - regardless of the cards held.

The dealer always stands on 17 or above and will draw to 16. Note that hitting blackjack pays 3 to 1 and insurance pays 2 to 1. There is a house edge of 0.46% and Aces can be split just the once and only one extra card will be dealt to a split Ace. If players are dealt a 10-valued card to any split Ace then this hand has a value of 21 and does not beat a Blackjack (A and J).
