23 Mar 2008Civil rights and Gambling? What gives?!Hi there!
Just thought I'd drop by and start my own blog. About gambling, of course. My adventures with gambling began when I was outraged that the United states banned online gambling. Up until then, I had no interest in the subect, but as a civil rights activist, I often defend things that I do not support, if only because they constitute a breach of rights.
When I heard about the ban, I contacted the law firm I deal with, and asked them if they would be active on the subect. And in the end I got the project. Not knowing anything about online gambling, I set to myself a task: learn all there is to learn about the subject, and what better way to do it than to play the games myself!
Much to my surprise, I found out that not only did I have fun, but I was also winning money! Losing some also, of course, but I suppose that that is to be expected.
I plan to be active here on the boards, and writing about the draconian UIGEA and the fight for rights in the United states all over the world.
On another note, I firmly believe the Olympics in china should be boycotted. It is absurd that a competition celebrating freedom and fair play would be hosted in a country where civil liberties are non existant. The last time that this happened was in Hitler's Germany. Let us not forget the mistakes of the past!!
