The Tomfoolery of Slot Machines

Today I want to talk about the famous "one armed bandits", the slot machines. I my honest opinion, slot machines are the biggest scam that ever was or ever will be, and strangest thing is that it is legal, and that no one seems to take notice of the utter uselessness of it all. When I think of all the people playing day in and day out, trying to squeeze the jackpots out of the games, it makes my blood boil.

As this subjects has been addressed already in the forum, I'll only add a little of my own personal insight with a little story. A while ago I was in a casino, never mind which, and I thought I would play a game on the slots to get warmed up, and then go on to the games where I actually have a chance to win. At least, that was what I wanted to do, but as huge ad the casino was, there were no free slots to play. Asking one of the dealers why this was, she told me that they were all "regulars," people who played at the slots every day, for hours on end. When I asked her if anyone of them actually won the huge progressive jackpots, she said that she thought so, but it had been during her own shift, so she didn't know. And there you have it. she had not seen, but heard. And that was from s some one who was actually on the casino's side.

Not that I have a problem with slot machines, I think that they are great fun. But if you turn into a zombie, and play all day long in the hopes that you will win big, then you're on the wrong track. At least, that is what I believe. What do you think?
