Fair and responsible gambling are the ultimate concerns of the IGC. The non-profit trade association does this by championing initiatives that address the challenges, opportunities and the threats that the Internet gambling industry faces, ever since 1996, when it was established.

The IGC brings to the global Internet gambling industry a unified voice that represents a broad interest, namely that of online gambling site operators, affiliates and players. The IGC has members from the US, the UK, South Africa, Israel, Canada, the Caribbean, Australia, Denmark, Sweden and more.

The efforts of the IGC are measured by the status of the online gambling industry at large - its reputation, legitimacy, reliability, integrity and credibility.
