Established in 2001 as an independent trust to tackle problem gambling in the UK, Responsibility in Gambling Trust (RIGT) is provided with voluntary funding by the gambling industry, to research and limit problem gambling.

RIGT was known as the Gambling Industry Charitable Trust (GICT) before changing its name in 2004.
