Learning a new language never hurt anyone. It won't hurt you either.

In fact, it might help if you're into playing online roulette.

The roulette game jargon has a French connection, dating back to roulette's origin. Here are some key terms the remain in their original French:

Tiers du cylinder - what players call a bet on a group of numbers bundled close together on the Roulette wheel, such as 36-11-30-8.

Voisins du Zero - literally meaning "neighbors of zero" - betting on those numbers located close to the zero slot on the Roulette wheel.

Carre - the Corner bet on the table.

Other key terms in Roulette can be found on the Roulette Glossary.

Top betting terms just in case:

Chasing Loses - betting more the spin after the player loses, in hopes of earning back the lost sum.

Martingale System - a famous betting system where the player doubles on every loss to attempt to claw back losses and end up with some winnings.
