The Golden Palace Online Casino has become a household name thanks to its innovative and sometimes flat out wired promotional campaign. Many people overlook the fact that the online casino has also done a lot over the years to help various notable charities all over the world. So far, the online casino has donated more than $1 million to charity. I´m not that na? to think that none of it was self serving. Nonetheless, the online casino should be given a lot of credit for aiding these causes. We can all hope that more online casinos will follow in its lead.
So without further adieu, I bring you the latest promotional antic concocted by Golden Palace. The online casino has recently sponsored a retired marine called Jay 'Patch' Platt in his attempt to swim the distance from Alcatraz Island to San Francisco while having his hands and feet tied. The online casino sent a $5000 check on behalf of Platt to the Semper Fi fund, an organization that provides assistance to Marines and Sailors injured in the war against terrorism. Richard Rowe who serves as the CEO of the online casino comments, "We at the online casino congratulate Jay on his successful swim and as always we are awed by the courage and determination of the men and women in the Marines and every arm of the military for putting themselves in harm's way to preserve peace". Plat explains his motivation for swimming 1.5 miles while being tied saying, I decided this was the challenge I was looking for. This seemed like the perfect way to support the Semper Fi Fund, and also to show others that they too can overcome great challenges in their lives, even though the obstacles they face may seem overwhelming. |
