The online casino sent a $5000 check on behalf of Platt to the Semper Fi fund, an organization that provides assistance to Marines and Sailors injured in the war against terrorism.

Plat explains his motivation for swimming 1.5 miles while being tied saying, I decided this was the challenge I was looking for.
