Pondering Poker

Poker changed in several ways when it made the move onto the web. As several aspects have been removed from the game, online poker became more of a skills game. These are some of the ways that the game has changed.
In playing online poker, the gambler can concentrate on the hand and chances of winning. Check, bet, call, raise and fold are tough decisions as it is, so there is no need to add much to it. Traditional poker is heavily loaded with psychological elements, which have caused many players to practice poker faces in front of the mirror. Bluffing too has become a recommended strategy. But when playing against a machine on the web there is no hand to hide or other players to fool. Another advantage of poker, when played online with a random number generator and across from a dealer or other players, is that you can stick to a pattern of play. In playing old school poker, a "non-strategy" strategy is recommended, i.e. avoiding a clear strategy to make it more difficult for others to guess your next move. On the web the player can feel free to form such a pattern. It's only you and your hand, so go out and win! |
Though poker is by no means an easy game, the chances of winning online are considered better than the chances of winning at traditional settings.
