It is like a story from a fairy tales: Young man, new on the block, does not really know the gaming scene well, enters a poker contest through an online casino he had been playing on end up winning a place in the top poker contest in the world and winning $60,000 in prize money. Well, this story is the true case of 22 year old Curtis Hirsch who entered the WPT Championships through VIP Poker room and won a trip to Las Vegas and came 49th out of 605 contestants.

The poker championship took place at the end of April and there were some limited buy in options for players. The entry fee was very steep but with a combination of online poker points and skill, Hirsch, a Canadian student, managed to land himself a seat at the sought-after tournament. As a prize from the site, Curtis received a fully expenses paid trip to Las Vegas and was thrilled at the opportunity. During the tournament time he remained focused and scored amazingly. The results, as mentioned, were $60,000 in prize money.

The site's manager said that he was proud of their representative and thrilled that he had done so well. He continued that it proves that online poker has what it takes to equal traditional poker and that the best of the best can come from anywhere in the poker ranks.
