The past decade has brought large growth to the online gaming world, to such an extent that playing poker on the internet is now more popular than land-based poker games held at casinos. A perfect example of this growth can be seen in the UK over the last year.

The most recent Neilson study there shows an addition of 3.2 million players. This is a 40% increase, even higher than the increase of users to Facebook and its rival social networks. The largest increase has been among high earning, well educated, middle-aged British men. Still, women do make a large percentage of the UK market at 46%. Originally, the over-65s and those of lower household incomes were the heavy users of gambling sites, but due do the recession these demographics have changed.

And who were the fastest- growing online gambling companies in the UK? At the top of the list is lottery operator Camelot. PartyGaming and PartyCasino were also pretty high up there on the list.

Great news - just as long as gaming time doesn't take away from tea time!

Its no doubt since people nowadays would look for comfort rather than distressed. And instead of visiting a casino which means paying for plane tickets or whatever fare needed in order to visit casino, gamblers would use that money in betting or playing online casino games.
