The National Basketball Association formally notified the league's 30 teams this week that games have been cancelled through to December 15, erasing one quarter of the season and raising questions for players, fans and of course the world of online betting.

Full Season Lockout Appears Likely

The odds on this lockout lasting the entire season appear to have risen, as the league announced the extension following the filing of a class-action antitrust lawsuit against it by top players including Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Durant.

The players are demanding a 52.5 percent share of all revenue, but the club owners are maintaining their stance that the cash be split 50/50. Hundreds of millions of basketball fans around the world, meanwhile, just hope this nonsense ends and the action resumes on the court as soon as possible.
