Though its authenticity is still clad in doubt, the site paid over $40,000 for the alleged nude pictures of the pop star, and insists that they are real. Ms. Spears' manager however says that they are fake and that using Photoshop, the pictures are meant to look like Britney in the buff but are actually just doctored. Several other sites have been involved in publicities stunts with the aim of generating a buzz.
