Payouts of a Different Kind

The payout was made to a lucky winner but the players luck changed shortly after winning a jackpot while playing video poker. We are always on the lookout for interesting articles and this one certainly caught our attention.
It was May 2002 when Robyn Smith was playing video poker at a local land operation, she had a rather unpleasant experience. As she dropped money into the video poker machine, she hit the jackpot and was ready to receive her winning payout when something unusual happened. Part of the winning slots machine actually fell off and landed on her causing some injury. Please take note, such accidents could never happened using software. Her lawyer believes that she could be legally entitled to a $1 million claim due to injuries she got while gambling. The case will be filed and it is yet to be determined if she has a real case against the casino in question. I guess if there is any lesson that can be taken home from this its that its much safer to play for winning jackpots than it is at the land based casinos. |
This story takes place at a land based operation in the US.
