Mercury Prize Nominations Buzz at William Hill

The Barclaycard Mercury Prize is one of the award highlights of the year in the British Music industry. Their annual Album of the Year prize always grabs the headlines and occasionally catapults indie acts firmly into the mainstream.

Twelve to One

This year's top twelve Albums of the Year have now been revealed and from this list an overall winner will be decided by a panel of music industry experts. The Mercury Prize winner will be revealed at an awards show in September. In the meantime fans are placing bets on their favorites for the Mercury Album of the Year award.

Weller may be an old timer but is still as popular as ever. He takes to the stage at this weekend's V Festival and is one music veteran who's retained his edge despite the passage of years. The question is, can he pull off a coup and steal the much coveted Mercury Prize from younger contenders?
