Tiger Woods Turns Attention to Golf

Tiger Woods Turns Attention to GolfCan Woods resume domination of golf world following divorce?

Tiger Woods has been in the news again this week for all the wrong reasons, this time following the completion of his divorce proceedings from Elin Nordegren.

Now that the almost year-long saga over Tiger's infidelity has seemingly ended, millions of golf fans will be hoping Tiger returns to his past form - which had him win 14 Majors - and starts winning tournaments with regularity yet again.

Woods can begin that mission as early as this week when he takes part in the Barclays PGA Tour event, being held at New Jersey's Ridgewood Country Club from August 26-29.

And the current betting odds suggest he can do it, with Tiger equaling fellow American Phil Mickelson as the odds favorite, both paying 14/1 at British bookmaker William Hill.

Rory McIlroy is 14/1 to win the tournament, followed by Scott Strickler, 16/1. Last year's winner Heath Slocum is way back at 100/1.

If backing the winner isn't your thing, there are many extra betting options too, including top 10 finish, top 5 finish, first round leader, margin of victory and whether the winner will be determined by playoff.

If the tournament is half as exciting as last year it will be worth watching. Slocum started it as the 124 seed from 125 players, and edged out Woods, Ernie Els, Padraig Harrington and Steve Stricker to win by just one shot.
