Qualifying is underway for the UEFA Euro 2012, and the race is on to see which 14 teams will join hosts Poland and Ukraine at the tournament.

Big guns Spain, the Netherlands and England have already showed why they are tipped to make the tournament, beginning qualifying with big wins, but France and Portugal showed that no result is ever certain with the former losing to Belarus on the opening match-day and the latter held to a 4-4 draw with Cyprus.

The pattern will become a little more clearer on Tuesday when most teams take to the field for their second game in qualifying.

Tonight's odds

Portugal has the chance to redeem itself when it travels to Norway; the Portuguese will start slight favorites, with William Hill offering 5/4 odds against Norway, 11/5, and a draw, 23/10.

In perhaps the match of the round, England faces its toughest group G rival, Switzerland, away from home. England is 5/6 to win, Switzerland is 7/2, and the draw is 12/5.

In William Hill's special "bet bundles," the bookmaker is offering odds of 11/1 for all of Portugal, England and France to win. The French play away against Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Spain is the overall favorite to win Euro 2010, at 7/2, ahead of Germany, 5/1, the Netherlands, 7/1, England, 9/1, and Italy, 10/1.
