Will Man City Arrest Slide Against LiverpoolOnline sportsbooks entertain the idea that both Manchesters will miss out on title.

Can Manchester City arrest a possible slide when they take on Liverpool? That is the question all the online sportsbooks are asking punters as a bumper week in New Year's English Premier League action continues.

Manchester City

Manchester City will start a slight 4/5 favourite to win their home fixture against Liverpool at William Hill Sportsbook. Liverpool are 7/2, while a draw is paying 5/2. Whatever happens, this is expected to not be a high-scoring fixture. They are paying just 8/1 to be the highest scoring match of the week, and City is paying just 8/1 to be the highest scoring team.

In the other big game, Manchester United will start 8/11 favourite when it travels to seventh-placed Newcastle, who are 4/1. Tottenham is expected to be the most free-scoring team this week, and its game against West Brom is paying 4/1 to be the highest-scoring of the round.

Could Both Manchesters Miss Title?

Could both Manchester teams miss out on the English Premier League title this year? Online sportsbooks are now seriously entertaining the idea of a double failure that could open the door for Tottenham, Chelsea or Arsenal to claim the premiership.

Following surprise losses for both of the table-topping teams on the weekend, William Hill have lengthened Man City from 1/2 favourites to a longer 8/11 to win the title, ahead of United, who are 6/4. Spurs are now 14/1, Arsenal 33/1, Chelsea 40/1, and Liverpool 100/1.

And City have now blown out to evens to achieve a record 104 premiership goals. The odds of this not occurring are now 8/11.
