The Long Road to a Grand Slam Million

The much hyped ‘Grand Slam of Slots' Tournament came to an end this month, having lived up to its billing as, "The World's Richest Online Slots Tournament Ever".

The 11 day event was fiercely fought out between the top two and it wasn't until the final 24 hours of the competition that Stefan, from South London, finally moved into pole position and pocketed a mammoth million.

The nail biting finish only added to the excitement of the first ever online slots Grand Slam. Mike Hebden, Casino Channel Lead, at Microgaming said, "The tournament has certainly lived up to expectations and generated a tremendous buzz amongst the online slot playing community."

The journey was a long and arduous one that started way back in July. Stefan, our new Grand Slam Millionaire, won his place with a measly €2 qualifier. He then had to wait until October to take his place at the final tournament, which then took a further eleven days to complete. The tournament had an amazing 8,700 players, each eying the mouthwatering million on offer. A sizeable 482 participants not only had a blast playing slots but also left with some winnings.

Those feeling sorry for the unlucky punter, Rick H, who had been in second place for the final week, can rest assured that the €50,000 second place prize provided more than adequate consolation.

Business as Usual
When questioned about his win, Stefan, who uses the alias Pattoned, said: "I'm ecstatic to have won and can't quite believe it yet. I'm absolutely stunned!" He has vowed to continue working for the time being.

Microgaming are encouraged by the success of their first foray into an online slots grand slam and the punters are certainly happy, (especially a certain Stefan from South London!) so let's hope this turns into a regular event.
