bwin Real Money Poker App for iPhone

European online gaming giant bwin has announced the launch of a real money online poker app for the Apple iPhone, the first of its kind for that device.

The free Texas Hold'em app is already available at the UK and Austria Apple stores, and is expected to be available to iPhone owners in other countries in the coming months.

Introducing bwin.com Poker

Listed at the store under the name "bwin.com Poker," the new app helps new players by automatically displaying the best hand. It also allows players to access hand histories instantly, and has a special one-click reseating in the event that a game is interrupted by an incoming phone call.

bwin had previously released a trial version of its Poker Clock app in 2009, a play-for-fun game that met with enough success to convince the company to introduce real-money games too.

Growth of bwin mobile

The launch of the poker iPhone app follows the release last year of a sports betting application for Apple devices. The betting app allows bwin account holders to perform most of the usual functions available to them at the online sportsbook.

According to Berthold Kao, Head of Mobile at bwin, the iPhone poker app was made possible by the success of the company's technology used in the mobile sportsbook.
