Midwest Gaming won the 10th and last casino license in the U.S. state of Illinois on December 22, giving it the right to go ahead with plans to build a casino in suburban Des Plaines, near O'Hare International Airport.

Three of the five members of the Illinois Gaming Board approved the license, while one voted against and one abstained.

Midwest beat out two other proposals in the process.
According to local news reports, the company - run by billionaire developer Neil Bluhm - Is planning a 50,000 square-foot casino for the site.
