Sportsbooks Ponder the Mann Booker Prize

Sportsbooks Ponder the Mann Booker PrizeWho will be the literary genius of 2011?

By Sharona B | Sep 21, 2011

Julian Barnes is currently leading the pack in the sportsbooks' odds for Mann Booker Prize winner 2011.

He's lost out on three other occasions, having made the shortlist in 1984, 1998 and 2005 but failed to claim the honor of top prize. This year his short novella, 'The Sense of an Ending' has again made the final six and is being favored by online sportsbooks and land-based bookies such as William Hill and Ladbrokes with top odds.

Strangely Barnes is not the only nominee to be making a repeat appearance. Carol Birch, author of 'Jamrach's Menagerie', was also made the longlist in 2003.
