85 percent of Americans view online gaming as an acceptable activity for themselves or others, an increase from 79 percent in the previous year. The increased acceptance levels could be found across all demographic levels.

Adults 21 to 39 are leading the way in their acceptance of gaming as a mainstream entertainment activity and valuable contributor to the U.S. economy. The survey reveals even stronger acceptance of casinos among young adults. An overwhelming 91 percent of adults ages 21 to 39 said gaming is acceptable for themselves or others, compared with 81 percent of Americans over age 50. The survey also reveals that 54 percent of Americans would favor the introduction of casino gaming into their area because of its widespread economic benefits.

AGA President and CEO Frank J. Fahrenkopf, Jr. said that "The sustained growth of commercial casinos indicates we have matured as an industry. We will not only survive the tough economic times but thrive alongside state and local economies as long as they continue to apply rational tax policies. Combined with our consistently high levels of public support, this bodes well for the future of gaming."

The AGA represents the commercial casino-entertainment industry by addressing federal legislative and regulatory issues. The association also serves as a clearinghouse for information, develops educational and advocacy programs, and provides leadership on industry-related issues of public concern.
