Black Friday and Online Gambling

The Friday following Thanksgiving Day in the United States, widely known as Black Friday, is the beginning of the Christmas shopping season.

The day is one of the most important retailers. It was called so mainly because retailers hope to change their accounting books from red ink - used to show negative amounts - to black ink - to show positive amounts.

Electronic - high-definition TVs and laptops; winter fashion - coats; and toys - Zhu Zhu robotic hamster pets were among the strong sellers in an overall successful Black Friday with strong shopper traffic. Shops opened as early as 5am.

The considered still to be cautious spending, retailers were happy with the results.

Promotions
Encouraging shoppers to loosen their wallets were promotions. According to a survey conducted by BDO Seidman LLP, 96 of 100 executives said they would increase promotions over the shopping season this year. Most aggressively discounted were electronics.

Online Gambling
