Top 10 Google List of Gambling Brands
Canadian entrepreneur Calvin Ayre's online gaming company Bodog has come out on top in a study into the brand strength of the 10 biggest names in the gambling sector. Bodog beat out some strong competition to top the list, which measured the number of Google Alerts generated daily by each firm in December 2009. Bodog finished with a total of 510 alerts, ahead of PokerStars, 493, and Betfair, 467, to claim the honor. Next on the list were: Paddy Power, 437, Ladbrokes, 421, Bet365, 414, William Hill, 395, BWin, 178, Party Poker, 175, and finally 888 with just 99 alerts. Full Tilt poker, PokerStars' challenger for the title of world's biggest poker site, did not feature in the study. The study was carried out by independent gaming consultant Josh Apiafi, who said of the study:"With much talk of digital and social media as well as the investment gambling companies put into PR generally we were keen to see how well the industry was getting its message out there with impressive results." |
