The internationally renowned online casino, Golden Palace, came out top dog in a week of intensive bidding to purchase a lock of hair auctioned by teen heart throb, Justin Bieber, on the talk show of EllenDeGeneres. The final winning bid in the auction is reported as being a whopping $40,668. This is even more than what was paid in 2009 for a clump of Elvis Presley's hair.

Bieber!!!!

Following a tweet posted by Ellen DeGeneres that she wished for a clipping of Justin Bieber's hair for her birthday, the teen pop star paid a surprise visit during one of the tapings of her show. Bieber presented DeGeneres with a signed box containing a lock of his hair which has become his trademark. The week-long bidding action was apparently fierce.

Good Cause

Proceeds from the auction will be donated to the California-based Gentle Barn Foundation which is a non-profit organisation helping abused farm animals and at-risk, inner-city and special needs kids.

In fact, GoldenPalace.com has used their global reach and market dominance to contribute more than $1 million to charitable causes and have participated in similar auctions for bizarre items such asthe Beckham Ball, Pope Benedict XVI's used VW Golf, and TV star William Shatner's kidney stone. All in the name of a good cause!
