Boxers Tattoo Ads on Selves
Adjust font size:
Recently The Nevada Athletic Commission banned the fighters from advertising ads on their bodies as fake tattoos, claiming it morally and inappropriate for inside the ring. The Boxer Clarence "Bones" Adams, was permitted to advertise an online casino tattoo ad on his back by the Clark County District judge during an aired fight. Clark County District Court Judge, Mark Gibbons, opposed this ruling and tried to prevent it from happening. Eric Amgar, a promotional division manager for Golden Palace.com, whose advertisement was being promoted, says, It´s a victory for free speech. It's a victory for boxers. Now they can make money for themselves with their own bodies. It also rewards companies like ours that come up with unique ways to advertise." Unfortunately, for "bones", he lost the match, but fortunately he got paid for the ad tattooed on his back. |
The body as politics, or simply as ad space... Fighters will no longer be allowed to tattoo ads on their skin when entering the rink.
