UK Takes It Up A Notch

Construction as planned will begin sometime in October and is expected to be finished by early 2004. The Oasis Hotel and Tower, in Marine Parade, Great Yarmouth, where construction is to take place, will go through a complete overhaul turning it into an amusement mall, a night club and restaurant, as well as a Vegas-looking casino. In July, The Atlantis Casino was also given the green light to build a $7million site. However, Cornshire, one of the constructors opposed to Atlantis's approved project, noted that in 1994 a comparable plan was introduced but was turned down since the plans included new arcades. In any case, the area is already home to two casinos, The Shadingfield Lodge in Marine Parade and King's Casino in Theatre Plain. Rodney Scott a savvy hotel entrepreneur, who coordinated and was behind the entire Atlantis project along with Colin Abbot an amusement park businessman , said, "The Atlantis Hotel and Casino will be the Golden Miles landmark building, providing a dazzling focal point for the UKs third biggest seaside resort." At this point in time, associates of Great Yarmouth Borough Council's expansion group, feel that the new project will do worlds of wonder for The Golden Mile. |
A Norfolk seaside settlement in the UK will soon be home to a new multi-million dollar Las Vegas style casino complex. Even though competitor developers were opposed to such a plan, the town was given the go ahead to start building.
