On Saturday a native resident explained the situation, saying, "Vendors are no longer shy about openly offering gambling coupons to residents, despite many Islamic boarding schools here. They have even managed to persuade many staff members at the administration to take bets."

Local residents in the Tangerang communities of Sodong, Kutruk, Ciatuy and Tigaraksa, have been beleaguered by many gambling ticket peddlers situated in their towns. It was noted by another local that for quite some time people have been worried about the many gambling ticketers who have been residing in their communities, believing that many people and students have become addicted to gambling because of their presence.

Even though, many Muslim preachers and local representatives have tried many times to caution residents not to deal with these ticketers, at present business is still going on. Mr. Suhardi believes that these gambling ticketers no exactly how to wheel the people in and influence them into buying from them. He said, "Residents hope the police will soon crack down on people selling gambling coupons."
