The drawing occurred in Paris on Friday night and the results were announced on TV stations throughout the three countries.

The ticket was purchased the Bourges of France. 16, 29, 32, 36 and 41 were the winning numbers and the Lucky Star numbers picked were 7 and 9.  Tickets for this drawing cost two Euros.  The game requires punters to elect five out of 50 Numbers and two out of nine Lucky Stars.   A French man won $19 million in the first ever Euro-Lottery drawing last Friday.

The Euro Millions has plans to be as big as Canada's Super 7 and USA's Power-ball Mega Draw (which had a $363 million jackpot winner in May 2000).  Governments of the three countries involved in the Euro-Lottery want the lottery win to occur in their respective territories.  This is because of allotted gambling taxes, which take a huge chunk of the winnings.  In France the gambling tax is a massive 27%.   If you're planning on buying a ticket for the Euro-Lottery seriously consider purchasing one from either Britain or Spain.  That is unless you want more than a quarter of your earnings to go to the French Government.
