Playtech Software Provider Could Float
Adjust font size:
Recent rumors within the gambling industry seem to indicate that Playtech could float on the London Stock Exchange in the near future but so far Playtech is keeping a tight lip on their financial plans for the future. Playtech, an industry giant, is estimated to be worth approximately $900 million. Software provider Playtech is apparently considering floating their stock on the LSE and has gone as far as hiring stockbroker Collins Stewart in order to examine what their best options may be. With a projected net worth of close to $900 million this news is causing a buzz within the industry. However as it stands, Playtech is denying such a move especially in light of some of the recent volatile action and speculation about stocks due in part to moves recently made by Party Gaming. Investors want to avoid over inflated stock prices for a relatively new market and many are speculating devaluation of stock. Playtech is best known for developing and supplying the software that works to power some of the internets finest online casinos. The company has only been around since 1999 and sometimes goes beyond servicing online casinos as in the work they do for the West Ham United Football Club. Apprehensive investors are watching this young company very closely to see just where it will end up in the next few years and if it will indeed float on the LSE any time soon. |
For anyone who is even slightly familiar with the online casino industry the name Playtech should mean something. Playtech is the company that provides the software to a large number of online casinos and essentially powers the gambling sites while allowing players to enjoy these games from their home PCs.
