Modern Times Lead to Modern Odds

There likely are, though we often dont hear about them. Could it be that odds have a disturbing influence on public opinion amongst those who gamble online?
Of course it is possible, but here is the rub: Gamblers are, or should be, naturally optimistic people. They will bet on the chances of a war breaking out not because they are pessimistic, but realistic they know that if they place a wager on odds favoring the outbreak of a future war in the Middle East, theyll likely win. Likewise, they wont bet at an online site for odds favoring peace when history recent and past has shown that such would be a losing wager. So is there any hope for peace if online casinos cannot see it? Obviously, the answer is yes, but not now. So long as it is that war is a fact of life in the Mideast, along with extremism and insecurity, the safe bet will always be on violence, not the avoidance of violence. This is not pessimism, mind you: it is opportunity. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people out there who stand to make or win a lot of money should wars break out, and not necessarily wars in the Middle East either. Websites may be a mixed blessing, but for gamblers conflict can be a blessed cash cow. |
It is an unfortunate fact of life in the Middle East that one war ends and another seems to be already on the way. With accusations from both sides in the Israel-Arab conflict of cease-fire violations, it seems as if the pattern of war is once again asserting itself in that troubled region. However, are there odds speaking of the chances for a credible peace process to begin?
