The giant internet search engine, Yahoo! has announced that it is to become the first Internet Service Provider (ISP) to offer poker players the option to play for real money. Yahoo! is teaming up with the Gibraltar-based St. Minver Ltd. to launch a real-money online poker room. St. Minver offers online gambling solutions to European gaming networks, and the new site will focus on the booming European market.

In line with the new United States internet gambling laws, U.S. gamblers will not be permitted to use the new poker room for real-money play for the time being. Yahoo!, however, is well established around most of the globe and should be able to establish a strong customer base in little time. The new Yahoo! site will run on the International Poker Network (IPN) poker room which links internet sportsbooks with top poker brands in the industry.
