Turnberry Associates principal and Jeffrey Soffer of Fountainebleau Resorts, has just recently announced plans regarding the construction and opening of a new casino, north of the Riviera on the Las Vegas strip.

The $2.8 billion complex will include 3,889 suites, hotel rooms and condos, nightclubs, convention space, restaurants, spas, and a 100,000 square foot casino, all over a 9.91 hectare site. Fontainebleau CEO Glenn Schaeffer explained that the emphasis will be on modernity contemporary art, striking design, world-caliber architecture, new technology and hip music". However, the most awaited feature of this casino will be the opportunity to buy condos within the complex, and rent them under the owners management whilst unoccupied.

Construction for the Fountainebleau Las Vegas has been underway since February this year, and is scheduled to open in late 2009.
