Barney Frank: Online Gambling a Right
Critic of military spending, protector of the environment and legislative leader on behalf of home owners across the United States, Representative Barney Frank (D - MA) visited Las Vegas on Sunday to speak at the World Series of Poker. His message at the event was a hopeful one. The powerful Congress member has kept been fighting against the current ban on online gambling. Two bills sponsored by Rep. Frank - HR2266 and HR2267 - aim to legalize online poker and delay UIGEA regulations from taking effect by one year. At WSOP, Frank told 1,700 poker players in attendance that he thinks online poker and online gambling are rights that need to be protected. In an overall hopeful message, he added that his bills will pass by next year. Discussion Rep. Frank spoke before the no limit Texas Holdem main event on Sunday.
