Google announced back in July that it will create an operating system all its own, entering a market previously controlled by Microsoft Windows, with Apple's Mac OS and Linux popular as well.

Designed primarily to run on netbooks, Google Chrome OS borrows the name from the web browser. It announces a new age of computing, with an ever-growing number of applications found on the web; this is also known as Cloud Computing.

Google Ads


Once computing hits the web, it is fair game for advertising - and that's where Google enters the picture. If users go mobile, computers go wireless, and apps are web-connected, Google figured an OS would keep it in the advertising picture for years to come.

Online Gambling


Google Chrome OS integrates 3D graphics, with the O3D plug-in. 3D gaming will be a seamless part of the operating system, which is said to try to "jump-start" 3D web.

3D gaming is currently found across the web at online casinos and online poker sites, such as 888poker and William Hill Casino, where players can find 3D Roulette games. O3D will become the platform for such sites and games, as Chroms OS makes its first steps in the market.

What's Next?


Google unveiled Chrome OS on Tuesday. It is available on a trial-basis to users who register for it online. It's designed for people who are online a lot. Clearly that means quite a few online gamblers...
