European gambling giant Bwin is set to make another big move into the Italian gambling market, following the announcement of a deal with Dragonfish, the B2B division of 888.

Under the deal, Dragonfish will provide Bwin with in-house and third party games as part of the latter's new online casino for Italians.

The offering will include table games, slots, video poker and video slots.

Bwin in Italy
The Italian gaming market is the biggest in Europe, and one which Austrian-based Bwin entered in 2009 following its acquisition of Italian poker operator Gioco Digitale.

Bwin was the first company to launch real-money skill games online for Italians, after receiving permission to do so at the beginning of 2009 from the country's regulatory body.

The company's logo also appears on the jersey of one of Italy's most famous football clubs, AC Milan.

Gambling in Italy
Online gambling was only fully legalized in Italy in September 2008, but with a population of a little more than 60 million people, and with Europe's fourth-largest economy (after Germany, France and the United Kingdom), the country is fertile ground for online casino operators.
