Betware, the leading developer of interactive gaming solutions, has passed all the tests needed to receive certification for a Spanish online gambling license, the company just announced.

Betware CRS Approved

Betware's Central Regulatory Storage (CRS) system was found to comply with the requirements of the Spanish Gaming Authority, after a range of tests were conducted on the authority behalf by BMM International's European laboratory.

This means Betware's CRS is now available to any online casino or gambling operator applying for a license in the newly regulated Spanish market. According to Betware CEO Stefan Hrafnkelsson, the company's aim is to offer products that allow its customers to focus on marketing and selling games while Betware ensures all regulatory requirements.

Spain Opens Up

Spain's new online gambling regulatory framework is set to come into effect on January 1, 2012, after the laws were approved earlier this year. The new framework, which followed similar initiatives in European countries like France and Italy, will see the gambling industry open up to foreign operators. Land-based casino operator Casino Gran Madrid was the first company to win a license earlier in the year. Foreign companies are also flocking to the country, including British betting company Ladbrokes, whose LBapuestas site is slated to go live once its license comes into effect.
