Final 3 To Contest WSOP Main Event Tuesday
German Pius Heinz, Czech Martin Staszko and Las Vegas' own Ben Lamb will face off on Tuesday to settle once and for all who takes home poker's greatest prize - the $8.72 million World Series of Poker Main Event. Advantage HeinzHeinz is in control of the game with more than 50 percent of the chips available. Heinz has 107.8 million, while Lamb is second with 55.4 million and Staszko sits at the tail-end of the field with 42.7 million. Matt Giannetti was the last to go in the first stage of the final Sunday, after going all in with his last 12 million chips, only to see his A-3 combo defeated by Lamb's pocket kings. Giannetti was visibly disappointed when he exited the final table. ESPN ActionThe Main Event is the most anticipated event in world poker, mainly because it is so deliberately drawn out. A field of 6,865 contestants was whittled down to just nine in July. Those nine returned to Las Vegas on Sunday, and by the end of the day became just three. After a couple of days' rest, the three poker stars return to the table on Tuesday to determine the world champion of poker. Every hands will be shown through ESPN cable and internet, with just a 15 minute delay between the broadcast and the live action. |
