The online gambling community's sense of social awareness continues to be seen, as more online casinos have joined the outpouring of generosity in the aftermath of the devastating Japan earthquake and tsunamis.

Maple Casino Joins Donors

The latest to join the trend was Maple Casino, part of the popular Vegas Partner Lounge, which announced a donating of 50,000 yen to the Disaster Relief in Japan, via the Japanese Red Cross Society.

Japan is still in turmoil following the March 11 earthquake, which measured 9.0 on the Richter scale and left thousands dead. The country is still suffering from food and water shortages, and is in need of donations from around the globe.

Gambling Community Gets Behind Cause

As we reported earlier, Jackpot City online casino was one of the first to begin a charity campaign, when it held its Help Japan Online Slots Tournament from March 18-20 to help raise funds for the victims and for reconstruction.

Payment methods popular among gambling customers have also been prominent fundraisers. Well-known online payment services provider NETeller has set up a mechanism to allow individuals to donate to the cause through the British Red Cross. To donate, just choose "transfer money" in your NETeller account, enter JAPANRELIEF and follow the instructions.
