Doyle Brunson Leaves Self-Named Poker Site

Black Friday is not a single day event. The repercussions of the US Department of Justice crackdown on US-facing online poker sites (PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker, Absolute Poker) has convinced Doyle Brunson to end his contract with DoylesRoom.

The future of the poker site is up in the air. A request for comment from DoylesRoom has yet to be replied. We will provide their comment as soon as it arrives, here on Online Casino Reports.

The 10-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner, Brunson, will no longer be affiliated with the online poker site. In his statement to gambling911, Brunson said:

"Reluctantly, I have decided to terminate my endorsement contract with Doylesroom.com. It pains me to leave at this time. I have aspirations of reentering the online poker business when the United States Government passes legislation, that officially legalize online poker sites."

Brunson also addressed the future of the poker room that bears his name:

"Although they believe they have the right to market the name Doyles Room and to use my name and likeness for a period of time, I have asked them not to."

On a High Note

DoylesRoom has only recently switched to a new software client, and joined the Yatahay poker network.
