British online casino Ladbrokes has delivered one of the biggest progressive slot jackpots in recent months, with a massive £1.5 million win on Microgaming's King Cashalot video slot at the end of the Royal Wedding weekend.

That's A Lot Of Cash!

The progressive jackpot was won when a Ladbrokes online customer hit five straight King symbols on a pay line after making the maximum bet possible on the five-reel, nine-payline King Cashalot video slot game.

As is customary with online video slot jackpot wins, the player actually won the grand prize one month ago on May 2, but the announcement was held back to allow for all the transactions details to be completed.

Microgaming Pays Out More

Mike Hebden, who heads the casinos division for online gaming software provider Microgaming, said his firm still holds the record for the biggest jackpot win ever, when a Greek man named Georgios M. struck a €6.37 million payout at Belle Rive online casino.

He said that Microgaming powered casinos have paid out €285 million since the progressive network was first launched many years ago, and added: "I am delighted that the progressive jackpot network has created another millionaire. It is so exciting when this happens and I am extremely proud that the player is paid out in one single payment."
