The chief executive of leading online casino software provider Net Entertainment, Johan Ohman, has resigned effective immediately, the company has told staff.

'Family reasons' behind decision

Ohman's resignation was for "family reasons", the company announced this week, naming sales director Bjorn Krantz as acting CEO. Ohman will stay on for three more months to assist the board in its work.

A permanent replacement has not yet been announced for Ohman, who in five-and-a-half years built the company up to its current strong state, which sees it valued at an estimated 245 million euros.

Company expanded under Ohman

The company expanded rapidly under Ohman, working its way into new gambling markets as they opened up. Only two weeks ago Net Ent became one of the first licensees to enter the Italian gambling market when it was granted permission by regulator AAMS to launch casino games with partner Gioco Digitale.

Net Entertainment is behind some of the best online casinos on the web, including some of the games at bet365. The software provider powers many of the best slot games bet365's online and mobile casino, which can be accessed through iPhone and a stack of other smartphones.
