888 Seeking Mad Men for New Advertising

888Casino is back after many of their ads were banned by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) last year with a call for advertising.

888Casino is known for their catchy and sometimes "too much" gambling advertising promoting their outstanding platform.  Recently, 888Casino sent out a brief to select advertising agencies in order to launch a "high-visibility activation campaign" that will target the UK and US.  Since online gambling has been approved in various states in the US and it is legal in the UK, 888 needs to capitalize on smart advertising.

888 Holdings, the owner of 888Casino is located in Gibraltar and is listed on the London Stock Exchange is offering to pay up to £30,000 to the winning agency and has approved a production budget of £150,000.  This budget should make for some top-shelf advertising for the booming company.

Last year the ASA banned a few of the 888 advertisements after they felt the language was misleading but this year both the CAP and BCAP is considering changes to their ad codes and the ASA will review the way they take action to enforce the proposed changes.  Some of the changes on the table include how "Free Bets" and "Bonus Offers" are marketed and online bingo activities will also be under scrutiny.  Decision makers in these organizations have said that it is most-likely that advertising guidelines will be tightened.
