Champions League Round of 16: Key Matchup to Start the ActionPublished February 14, 2017 by Sol FH
PSG vs Barcelona and Benfica vs Dortmund tonight at 19:45 GMT to kick off the Champions League Round of 16.
The highly anticipated Champions League Round of 16 gets underway tonight with two very interesting matches. Playing simultaneously, fans will be able to catch Paris Saint Germain vs Barcelona and Benefica vs Dortmund tonight. This is the first leg of the round and all four teams playing tonight will be eager to give themselves some breathing room ahead of the second leg and away goals are always a great way to do that.
PSG vs Barcelona
The main attraction tonight will be between PSG and Barca at the Parc de Princes tonight and both sides are in excellent form. The home team has not lost a game since mid-December and the Blaugrana have not dropped a game in their last 11. Barcelona's top three, Messi, Neymar and Suarez are the most dangerous trio in the tournament, with Messi actually leading scoring with ten goals in just five games. For PSG, Edinson Cavani is also having the season of his lifetime and is arguably a good match for Barca's top 3.
PSG will need to defend their home turf without Thiago Motta, who is out due to suspension tonight. Both Javier Pastore and Grzegorz Krychowiak will most-likely miss out due to injury. Barca will be without Aleix Vidal for sure, while Javier Mascherano is still a question.
Matches between these teams regularly reap a lot of goals with 21 scored between the two in their last six meetings.
bet365 Sports has posted their odds in favor of Barcelona at 2.15, while PSG is at 3.60 and a draw is 3.50.
Benfica vs Dortmund
Estádio da Luz will come alive tonight as Benfica set to host German powerhouse Dortmund in their first leg battle. Dortmund are currently in fourth place in the Bundesliga and trying to close the gap on the squads ahead of them. They are coming off a tough loss in their league game on Sunday night 2-1 at the hands of Darmstadt 98, but they are a different team in the Champions League.
Benfica are in first place in the Primeira League and the Portuguese side, home team tonight have a lot at weapons at their disposal. Benefica may need to go to war without Eduardo Salviom still recovering from an injury. For Dortmund, Mario Gotze was left off the roster, which is good to let him rest tonight.
bet365 gives odds in favor of Dortmund at 2.40 and the home side at 3.20 for the win. This could be a great bet to play with the underdogs, but do not forget that bet365 Sports is running their Euro Soccer Bonus with chances for a huge sum of money. The thought of using bet365 Sports' Money Back Bore Draw could work out well, but judging the history of goals between these two would be futile.
