Player Interview: Online Casinos Through the Eyes of a New PlayerPublished July 1, 2014 by Amir G
CV from Canada shares his experiences as a new online casino player with Online Casino Reports, helping to shed light on the confusion online casino VIP and loyalty point programs sometimes create.
Following our last interviews with online casino players from Hungary and Australia, this time we went up to Canada where we had a few words with casino player CV. A "newbie" to online casinos, CV began playing this year (2014). Therefore, we managed to get a view of the online casino world via the eyes of a new player. CV's freshness helped us shed light on a basic point having to do with VIP and loyalty programs, which seems obvious to experienced online casino players, but isn't so for newcomers.
Running in the Family
Since his introduction to online casinos, CV has played at Sun Vegas Casino and Maple Casino, where he remains a member today. Part of the Vegas Partner Lounge, Maple Casino is wholly dedicated to players from Canada, and it seems that this is where CV found his gaming home. We were quite impressed when we asked CV how he came to sign up at Maple. "My sisters are also players with Vegas Partner Lounge," he told us, showing that online casinos also run in the family.
Distinguishing Between VIP Programs and Loyalty Points
CV stated that he had no clue whether he was a VIP member or not at Maple Casino but mentioned that he uses his loyalty points. This sheds a light on a point which can be confusing at online casinos: making the distinction between VIP programs and loyalty points.
VIP Programs usually require a special invitation on behalf of the online casino to join. These programs are frequented by high rollers who enjoy VIP-only perks ranging anywhere from higher wagering limits, tournaments and bonuses to special events, raffles and personal account managers.
In contrast, loyalty point programs are different in the sense that they are simply comp points which players gain as they play for real money in the online casino. These points can be exchanged for casino chips, used for bonuses, or cashed out as hard money. While the perks vary from casino to casino, the norm is to receive some or all of these offers.
Now that that's cleared up … let's get to the games!
Game Variety a Key to Players' Hearts
"A good variety of games!" was CV's clear answer when asked which elements are most important to him in an online casino. He further stressed that point saying he doesn't have any specific favorite games among Maple Casino's collection of 600+ games, but he enjoys their variety and it is even better if they pay big, or as he put it: "I like big payoff games". CV's favorite promotions at Maple Casino are bonuses and tournaments having to do with slots and blackjack. While CV hasn't won any jackpots yet, he won $2,500 in one sitting once, but he doesn't remember which game.
We had fun with CV and thank him for his time, along with a wish to hit a jackpot in the near future! Stay updated as we'll be bringing more player interviews soon.
