Trump and 888 Holdings Eye US Online Poker

The US poker market is an attractive target for global conglomerates 888 Holdings and Trump Entertainment Resorts.
On open declaration of interest has been expressed by both 888 Holdings and Trump Entertainment Resorts regarding the vastly untapped frontier of online poker in the United States.
After the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006, online poker providers fled the market like rats from a sinking ship. However, where previously sanctions had been put in place making it exceedingly difficult for operators to offer online poker gambling, it appears the market will soon be a viable option for many entertainment providers.
Trump Entertainment Resorts and 888 Holdings are taking steps in preparation to pounce on the market as soon as it opens up in an effort to be first among the sure droves of providers eyeing the US online poker market. While Trump Entertainment Resorts will partner with Mark Lasry's Avenue Capital Group and 888 Holdings with Caesar's Interaction Entertainment, the competition between the two is sure to fuel a vibrant industry in the US once online poker regulations are put in place and the market becomes fair game. Both sides are currently capable of offering real-money online avenues of poker gaming as soon as state and/or federal regulations loosen the market.
