At the heart of this organization is the ICRA questionnaire.
ICRA got its name from its former title - the Internet Content Rating Association. Now it is part of the Family Online Safety Institute.
In existence since 1994 and on a mission to help develop a safer Internet, ICRA has long believed that self-regulation leads to the best balance between the free flow of digital content and protecting children from potentially harmful material.
At the heart of its work is "the ICRA questionnaire" - checking which of the elements in the questionnaire are present or absent from a website. Then labels are linked to the content the domain. Labels, in turn, help parents filter access to the Web with proper software.
