The Casino Answer Book

A fun book containing a remarkable insight into the activities of modern casinos written in a question and answer format.
John Grochowski's The Casino Answer Book is quite unlike other gambling and gaming guides. The author uses a fun question and answer format that keeps the reader engaged until the final page. This is a book that you can simply pop into your bag or briefcase to read on the train or bus, or whenever you have some free time on your hands.
Originally published in 1998, this book was written to show the reader how to beat the casino house advantage and increase their chances of winning at poker, blackjack, and roulette. Using his many years as a gambling expert and commentator, Grochowski takes the reader on a guided tour around the casino, offering valuable tips and insight into the various games on show.
This book is the first in Grochowski's series of Answer books and provides lists of multiple-choice, true/false, and matching game questions. If you're not the quiz type, then simply skip to the back of the book and read through the answers, which form a collection of entertaining mini essays that will delight any reader. The author includes detailed histories of each of the major casino games and his book is peppered with amusing anecdotes and tips and tricks to help any casino fan improve their game.
The Casino Answer Book presents a detailed and accurate description on how to play three of the most popular casino games. However, if you're looking for an in-depth analysis of these games, you would be advised to look elsewhere. The coverage is fair, and interesting, but it's hardly profound, and many experienced casino players may find its content unremarkable.
John Grochowski was born in 1952 in Aurora, Illinois, and grew up in the Chicago suburb of Lisle. He earns his living as a TV and radio gambling commentator and author. A nationally-syndicated columnist with the Chicago Sun-Times, he also has a string of gambling books under his belt beginning with his first book published in 1996 entitled, "Gaming: Cruising the Casino with a Syndicated Gambling Columnist". Subsequent books were written in his particular question and answer style, which has proved very popular with casino book fans.
