Responsibility in Gaming
Problem gambling is the main focus of the annual Responsibility in Gaming (RiG) conference, with attendees seeking to determine best practices.
Responsibility in Gaming is a conference established in 2019, with the inaugural event hosted at in the Belgian Capital of Brussels. From 23-24 October 2019, iGaming professionals were invited to attend Wiltcher’s Steigenberger Hotel to engage in a variety of discussions relating to responsible gaming.
At Responsibility in Gaming (RiG), the intention is to further explore the issue of gambling disorders. People impacted by those disorders exhibit neurological effects that drive their problem gambling, and more and more research data is being gained all the time in the field.
Three founders came together to establish RiG, starting with Pieter Remmers, who was secretary general of the European Association for the Study of Gambling (EASG). Then there is Ynze of the Global Gambling Guidance Group (G4) and Gaming in Holland and Gaming in Spain event organiser Willem van Oort.
Operators and Regulators
With volumes of information ever increasing, RiG is trying to bring together iGaming professionals with a view to figuring out how to best apply problem gambling insights in relation to operators.
Furthermore, the conference also seeks to determine what remote gambling regulators should be aware of. Regulators are now based all over the world, with some specifically created to look after national or regional residents, while there are others that can provide licences across multiple countries.
For the organisers, the ultimate aim is to bring together as many regulators, operators, and professionals as possible to explore the discussions. RiG will then attempt to find solutions that are intended to encourage the improvement of responsible gaming within the wider global industry.
